
New Zealand defeated World No.1 India by a massive margin of 10 wickets on Monday morning at the Basin Reserve in Wellington as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Tim Southee and Trent Boult shared the rewards in castling down the remaining six wickets on day 4 with the former completing his 10th career five-wicket haul as New Zealand set themselves a target of just nine runs. Openers Tom Latham and Tom Blundell took just 10 deliveries to hand New Zealand their record 100th Test victory.
